That's what it comes down to with these vintage Couroc trays. I've had to pass on many I run across, as they are just in poor or chipped condition, and that's hard when the particular pattern is one less found and/or popular.
I almost passed on this tray, as it was rather dirty/dusty....but when I wiped a bit, found that many of the scuffs disappeared when I rubbed, and it actually looked pretty good.
Being a triple "A" personality. I got to the task of cleaning and polishing this

Besides, I don't sell anything dirty...period!
I spent a lot of time cleaning, rub-rub-rubbing and polishing the phenolic resin, top and bottom.
Finished off with a micro fiber towel.
What emerged is an absolutely gorgeous, silky-smooth tray with a mirror shine!
I shot images from different angles to try to show condition. It does have some light scratches/scuffs & tiny marks, which appear more in the right "open" area and none are a stand-out.
Naturally, some on the bottom, but that even looks super, as you can see.
No major stains or glass "rings". No chips.
Very rich color. Even prettier in person, given the iridescence of the abalone.
Foil label on the bottom nearly perfect. Plus, it's one of the cooler, older labels that has the diver graphics. In addition, below label is the raised Couroc logo on the tray.
18" x 12.5" size. To be more precise: length is 17 7/8" and width is 12.25".
Handled with a cloth and wrapped after photos, so your fingerprints will be the first (this time around, lol).
Ready to use and/or proudly display.
