Description
Vintage matched set of two antique gold tone Sconce Wall Hangings in the Hollywood Regency Style and with an "Arts & Crafts" hammered finish.Marked on the back: copyright "Burwood Products Company", "4455-2", and "MCMLXIV" (1964). Made of hard black plastic with antique gold color paint finish. Both in very good condition with minor paint wear and no chips or cracks. There is missing paint on the backside of the candleholders but that was how it was originally left by the manufacturer. One has more missing paint on the side than the other but again was done by the manufacturer. Easy to spray paint with antique gold color paint if you wish to do so. Each has hanging bracket on back so ready to hang.
Each measures about 14-5/8" long x 4-3/8" at widest and 4-1/4" deep from backside to outer edge of holder flange.
I may need to unscrew the candleholder from the back of each sconce in order to fit into the shipping box but it is just one phillips head screw for each sconce and they easily screw in and out.
If you buy, choose either Priority Mail or Parcel Select Ground whichever is cheapest for you based on your location, but remember the latter one is also
longer delivery time
.
NOTE:
Hollywood Regency, sometimes called Regency Moderne, is a design style that describes both interior design and landscape architecture characterized by the bold use of color and contrast often with metallic and glass accents meant to signify both opulence and comfort. It is named for the movie-making industry of southern California as typified by the glamorous homes and estates of the actors and actresses of Hollywood's "Golden Era", roughly from the 1920s through the 1950s, and typified by the work of designers such as Dorothy Draper and Billy Haines. It remains a current and lively area of design work both inside and outside of southern California.
