Rare and beautiful Alice Kagawa Parrott Cape Parrott Fabrics Inc. Handwoven In Sante Fe.
From Santa Fe weaving legend, Alice Kagawa Parrott, comes this handwoven, naturally dyed, 1960/70s cape with belt.
Alice opened one of the first weaving shops in Santa Fe out of the living room of her Canyon Road adobe. She also outfitted the ushers of the Santa Fe Opera in ponchos for its very first season in 1957.
Parrott Fabrics operated in the 60s and 70s, all the while Alice exhibited her work in New York and London, traveled on a grant to study weaving in Mexico and Guatemala, and established herself as one of the country's most important weavers.
