  • Condition: This Vintage Mid-Century modern swag light, with colored stained pebble glass top is in very good, clean condition. It takes some patience getting the bottom light shade adjusted evenly and the decorative edge collars are not perfectly concentric, but the overall effect is stunning. The chain is relatively short for a swag, about 90 inches and does not have a switch incorporated.

    Description

    This Vintage Mid-Century modern swag light, with colored stained pebble glass top is in very good, clean condition.
    It measures about 10 inches from the hanging loop to the bottom finial and the overall diameter is about 17 inches.
    The former owner told us it hung in a cabin in Maine for most of it's tenure, was
    packed up and
    removed here to Virginia for the rest and never unpacked. He said he thought it was purchased in the 1960's. It takes just a little patience getting the bottom light shade adjusted evenly and the decorative edge collars are not perfectly concentric, but a new owner should have no trouble addressing the minor eccentricities that are typical with these period lights. I found that the pictures we have provided show the outside decorative edge had been installed upside down. We are packing Instructions, with pictures to make installing easier for you.
    The overall effect is stunning with or without the three bulb fixture illuminated. I have never seen another like this so I think it is relatively rare and certainly unique. The chain on this light is relatively short for a swag, about 90 inches from the fixture to the plug.  It does
    not
    have a switch incorporated as most swag chain kits provide today, probably to accommodate the original installation in the cabin, but the kits are inexpensive and easy to install if you require something longer. Weighs a little over 17 lbs. packaged carefully.
