For many years, if you wanted a convertible Mercedes-Benz, the only choice was the 2-seater SL. But in 1993, the Wunder-Engineers from Stuttgart developed the E-class convertible - a luxurious 4-seater with Mercedes quality and a top that went down. This particular 1995 Merc E320 convertible is a bargain-priced way to get into an A-list Benz droptop, featuring relatively low miles, a wonderfully preserved original presentation, and unparalleled German luxury that still impresses today.
Yes, the mileage has crept over the six-figure mark, but in a Mercedes-Benz, it's all pretty much academic thanks to legendary build quality. And if you do the math, 4,500 miles per year over the course of 26 years is evidence that this Merc was never put through the ringer, but rather enjoyed as a 2nd or 3rd car – to be driven on weekends and sunny afternoons. So yeah, you better believe this 100% stock E-Class is still in great shape. The W124 E-class was particularly well-engineered, one of the last Mercedes-Benz lines to be developed purely by engineers without the meddling of accountants and marketers, and it certainly shows. Dressed in Brilliant Silver Metallic over Atlas Gray, it has a period-perfect look and still looks expensive. Up close, you can hardly believe that this is a 26-year-old car with 117,584 miles on the clock, because the finish is well above-average and shows only minor imperfections in inconspicuous places. And if you want to restore some mid'90s glory into that original finish, a professional detail with a little light buffing on the paint would really work wonders. Thanks to rock-solid build quality, the doors still open and close without effort and the sucker fits together better than a lot of modern machinery. The darker gray lower cladding is in great condition and is a lot more durable than regular paint, so it's resisting the passage of time pretty well and the big chrome grille and three-pointed star on the hood still have an intimidating effect on fellow motorists.
As you'd imagine, the interior is made of leather, which was a big step forward for Mercedes-Benz, who typically favored MB-Tex vinyl in their open-roof cars. Black leather in a droptop of this vintage usually deteriorates easier than David Hasselhoff in a tanning booth, but the beautiful hides in this E-Class are a testament to this car's fantastic preservation. The sculpted buckets up front remain firm and supportive, perfect for long-distance drives, and other than a few minor wrinkles and light scratches in the driver's seat, they look incredibly good. Those famous plush Mercedes carpets still look great, protected by matching floor mats that have likely been there since new, and the door panels show almost no evidence of a car that's been exposed to the direct sun for several decades. The rear seats look barely used and this cabriolet is loaded with every luxury feature you can imagine from the '90s, from automatic climate control to power windows, locks, and seats, just to name a few. The real-deal woodgrained dash and center console are in awesome condition, as is the upper dash pad, and all the instruments are big, bright, and well-marked. The only deviation from stock is a Kenwood AM/FM/CD/AUX head unit that fits neatly into the factory dash slot, and with cruise control and cold factory A/C this cabin feels like the lap of luxury. As a true 4-seater, there is a real-sized back seat that's good for adults and because this is a Mercedes-Benz, the multi-layer black canvas top powers itself up and down, hiding beneath a hard-shell tonneau cover. The top takes up a decent bit of luggage space, but you'll find there's plenty of room for your gear on a road trip. Bottom line, if you told me this interior was 6 years old, I'd believe you more than the actual 26 years it really boasts – it's simply that nice.
The E320 received a slightly larger 3.2 liter inline-six, whose silky-smooth torque output makes the car feel like it's powered by a turbine rather than pistons. Famous for its reliability, with regular maintenance it should continue to run for quite a while yet and the engine bay is clean enough to suggest that someone really cared about this car. It idles with barely a whisper and despite the transmission's programming that forces a second-gear start, it feels reasonably quick and agile around town and is simply amazing on the highway. The all-independent suspension is supple yet athletic and the brakes are so powerful that you'll never even give them a second thought. And thanks to a lifetime in California, rust and rot are not an issue here. Factory alloy wheels were specifically redesigned for the E320 and carry 195/65/15 Michelin radials all around for optimum grip.
Can't you just picture some Hollywood big shot driving this baby down Pacific Coast Highway in 1995, chatting on his gigantic Motorola with the ocean breeze precariously lifting up his toupee? Well, he looks even sillier now that the asking price is k lower than when it was new - and this Merc is still in such great shape it's ready to tackle the sunshine-paved streets for years to come. Terms & Conditions
We recognize the need for complete transparency when buying/selling vehicles on eBay. That said, we did not build, modify, or have the luxury of personal ownership that would give us the advantage of knowing all unknown aspects of each vehicle. Transparency is king and we're happy to try and answer ALL questions our customers might have prior to purchasing. Additionally, we welcome and encourage independent inspections (see Inspection statement below).
FEES
: A documentation fee of 9 will be added to the purchase price at the time of sale. Sale price does not include any Title, License, Registration, State or Local Taxes or Processing Fees. We recommend you familiarize yourself with your individual state's taxes, transfer, or additional fees.
AVAILABILITY
: Please inquire prior to purchase to assure any advertised vehicle is not already sold. We advertise across multiple platforms where a vehicle can sell in a moment's notice. Vehicles may be sold prior to eBay listing end, and we reserve the right to end listings early or to cancel bids/offers solely at our discretion and shall not be held liable for any such cancellation.
CONTACT
: Note that you may hear from us after to the sale, but if you are a winning bidder, click a Buy-It-Now, or we accept your eBay Offer, it is your responsibility to contact us within 24 hours.
INSPECTION
: VERY IMPORTANT. If a buyer chooses to buy sight unseen (many of our buyers choose this option) the buyer accepts the vehicle AS-IS and understands we cannot address concerns post sale. For this reason, it's important all concerns are addressed prior to purchase. We make every effort to present accurate and reliable information, but use of this information is voluntary, and should only be deemed reliable after an independent review of its accuracy, completeness, and timeliness. It is the sole responsibility of the customer/buyer to verify the existence of options, accessories and the vehicle condition before time of sale.
PAYMENT
: We require a non-refundable 0 deposit within 48 hours of winning or commitment to purchase. Full payment is required within 7 days of offer acceptance unless other arrangements are agreed to in writing. If deposit and/or full payment are not provided within said timeframe, all vehicles will be relisted and transaction will be considered void. For balance of payment we will accept bank wire transfer (preferred), cashier's check, or personal check (vehicle shipment will be delayed until check clears). We also offer vehicle financing, please inquire for details prior to making bids/offers. SHIPPING: We have access to a network of private and commercial carriers. Most of them can deliver the vehicle to your driveway and upon your schedule. We assume no responsibility for damages or delays incurred once a vehicle is in a shipper's custody. Buyers are welcomed to trailer vehicles home and we are happy to have everything ready to see you off with your new vehicle.
DRIVE IT HOME
: If you plan to buy and drive home, please keep some things in mind. Anything is possible when it comes to a vehicle, especially a classic or antique one. We recommend transporting all vehicles to your home first, then driving it locally. Get to know the vehicle and its tendencies before embarking on a long-distance trip. If you choose to drive your new vehicle home, buyer accepts all responsibility as we are unable to control what may take place once it leaves our facility.
DOCUMENTS & VEHICLE TITLE
: All purchase documents are sent immediately upon purchase. To avoid delays, we recommend returning any required documents within 24 hours of receipt. Please allow up to 30 days for vehicle titles. Usually titles are available sooner, we ask for the extra time in the event there are unforeseen circumstances.
VIN VERIFICATION
: We photograph the primary VIN location of every vehicle and make sure that VIN exactly matches the vehicle's current title. Buyer agrees to hold seller harmless from any disputes arising from other hidden or secondary VINs present on the vehicle as seller only verifies the primary VIN location. If needed, it is the buyer's sole responsibility to verify secondary VIN locations their specific state may inspect, prior to purchase.
MILEAGES
: Occasionally our vehicles may be driven or simply moved around our facilities. Slight differences may occur so we recommend you confirm actual and current miles prior to purchase.
CONDITION
: We cover the obvious and do our best to describe our vehicles in detail. Even so, please have a transparent conversation with us before purchasing. Do be aware that all pre-owned vehicles, regardless of age, mileage, or manufacturer are subject to cosmetic wear and mechanical failure. Finally, be advised that although our sales associates are here to assist you with your purchase, they are not trained or certified vehicle inspectors.
AS-IS
: All vehicles are sold "AS IS" and with no warranties expressed or implied. If you choose to waive inspection, do plan to have a detailed and transparent conversation with us regarding the vehicle's condition. Ask the hard questions up front. Please just call us, we are here to help and welcome all your questions!

Information is provided to the best of our knowledge and we make no warranty or representation regarding the accuracy, truth, or reliability of such information. We cannot be responsible for any errors, omissions, or inaccuracies contained in information provided by the consignor/seller of the vehicle.
