This beautifully restored 1971 Dodge Challenger Convertible is one of only 126 big block, automatic Challenger convertibles ever produced. Enthusiasts and collectors will appreciate the numbers matching engine, the full list of factory options, and a very nice restoration. What's more, this example is believed to be the only one from the factory with Bright White paint, white convertible top, and a white RT style stripe, as confirmed by the data plate. This Bright White (Paint Code GW3) Challenger is absolutely stunning after being refinished in its original color. The quality of the paint is nearly flawless with brilliant shine and luster. A small amount of overspray was noted on the passenger rear quarter area. The white (Trim Code V3W) power convertible vinyl top looks showroom new and really completes the almost luminous look. The chrome and brightwork appear to be in good shape, but the chrome on the rear bumper is showing signs of fade and would benefit from a re-chrome. The wheels look new, wrapped in the quintessentially muscular raised white letter tires. Other factory options include the fender mounted turn signals, body moldings all around, and the aforementioned white longitudinal stripes which appear showroom new with no fading or cracking. The interior of this convertible is really set off by the striking white vinyl front and rear seats. While these seats were believed to be the original black bucket seats that were installed in the factory, they were sent off to an upholsterer in 2020 to be reupholstered in white. This contrasts well with the black carpeting and white door panels. Astute Mopar enthusiasts will notice the Rallye gauges inside the faux wood trim of the dash. An original HD TorqueFlight transmission is operated by the stock t-handle and operates as expected. The power convertible top switch works well, and the mechanism itself allows the top to go down in just a few seconds. Mechanically, this Challenger runs and drives well. The original 383 Magnum provides ample power with a great exhaust note. The engine compartment has been recently detailed and looks excellent. One enhancement noted was the replacement of the stock exhaust manifold with a set of Doug's Headers. For many enthusiasts, this was a great choice that will really deliver the deeper, throaty sound that one expects from a big block car with dual exhaust. Another interesting note is the presence of the engine block heater, as this car was built for the Canadian market. The steering is responsive and the alignment is straight with no issues found during the test drive. This convertible was also equipped with power brakes and power steering, making this a great top down cruiser that anyone can enjoy with confidence. For details and information, please text, call or email Dan Shaffer at 1.716.704.0291 or email us at . This Challenger can be seen at our Phoenix Showroom.
