FRAME-OFF RESTORATION, ONLY 1,029 PRODUCED IN 1970, FACTORY 4-SPEED!
This 1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass W31 is very striking in its factory color (code 14) Platinum Metallic. The body was pulled off of the frame and stripped to bare metal. The body is laser straight with excellent fit and finish. The paint is very smooth and glossy. All the chrome and trim has been restored to show quality. The black vinyl top is like new. All of the glass is very nice. The door jambs are painted and detailed. It features the popular W25 fiberglass Ram Air hood, rear spoiler, sport side mirrors and the W-machine stripe package on the hood and sides. It sits on a set of original wheels with Goodyear Polyglas tires.
The interior is stunning! It also has been restored to brand new quality with its Strato bucket seats, 4-speed center console with a factory Hurst shifter. Looking at the dash area, it is very nice and restored with its factory gauges,Tic-Toc-Tach, retro AM/FM radio and factory sport steering wheel. The seat upholstery, carpet, sill plates, door panels, and headliner look new. It also has factory style floor mats.
The engine compartment is restored and detailed to factory specs. The first thing you notice is the Ram Air air cleaner. It has a date coded, totally rebuilt 350 ci/325 hp V-8 engine with the correct Rochester Quadrajet 4-barrel carburetor and a correct Ram Air air cleaner assembly with a vacuum operated flapper and heat riser tube. The engine compartment is very neatly detailed.
The undercarriage is very impressive. Everything has been replaced or restored to look like new. All the front end components have been rebuilt including the shocks, ball joints, bushings and steering components. The rear suspension has been completely rebuilt as well. Looking up at the motor, it is clean as well as the M20 Muncie transmission. There is a 12 bolt 3:91 rear end with an upgraded W27 aluminum rear end cover. Other features include factory boxed-in rear control arms with sway bar and factory style dual exhaust system. The E-brake assembly is complete and working.
The trunk compartment is nicely detailed with a correct spare tire and wheel, a restored jack assembly with lug wrench and newer weather stripping. Under the trunk lid are jacking instructions and posi decals, a factory trunk light and trunk mat.
