Description

An outstanding quality 28' Switlik Parachute Company seat-style parachute manufactured in 1951 and believed to be of the SA-20 type, but that designation is uncertain.  The photos attest to the great condition of the material and hardware.
Parachute was used by Lt. Don Spry flying the T-33.  Parachute was located at Moody AFB, GA and is complete with maintenance log indicating last servicing on 10 April 1958.
UNUSUAL to this chute is the use of an older seat cushion!!  The cushion, made by Firestone, is dated Nov 1942 and feels like it is stuffed with horse hair.
I acquired this parachute and a T-33 ejection seat from a dealer who received them from the aviator's family. Both were beautifully preserved by the family as treasured items commemorating the lieutenant's service.
